Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the clinical area with ongoing responsibility for assessing care needs, developing, implementing, and evaluating care programs.
  • Coordinate and oversee midwifery services within the Antenatal Clinic, collaborating with medical professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
  • Provide clinical leadership and establish standards that promote excellence in practice.
  • Encourage innovative and evidence-based midwifery practices through professional guidance and support for the clinical team.
  • Act as a credible role model, inspiring and empowering staff to reach their full potential through personal and professional development.
  • Evaluate clinical practices and outcomes to enhance the quality of care, utilizing audits, research, and teaching methodologies.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care for all patients, maintaining continuity from referral to discharge.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Current NMC registration
  • Registered midwife

Desirable:

  • NIPE qualification

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role

Desirable:

  • Training in Datix
