Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Commercial Manager to spearhead our team in driving the strategic vision for Supply Chain Processes and Performance. This role is essential in supporting both the Strategic Supply Chain team and the Procurement operations team by ensuring robust governance, comprehensive reporting, and efficient systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take charge of contractual governance and facilitate negotiations within the Supply Chain sub-function, leveraging expertise in contract law, terms and conditions, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and Parent Company Guarantees.
- Maintain a comprehensive library of clauses and standard contract templates to ensure adherence to mandatory requirements.
- Provide strategic leadership with a focus on Schedule 37 and 38 of the M&O contract, shaping the risk and compliance agenda across the Supply Chain.
- Develop and sustain a risk management tracking system and methodology tailored for the Supply Chain sub-function.
- Establish governance and reporting frameworks for risk and compliance, ensuring clear accountability for risk management and that leadership is informed of relevant reporting requirements.
- Design and implement best practice reporting mechanisms for procurement activity improvement initiatives, enhancing data visibility and accessibility while ensuring high-quality, timely, and accurate management information.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Background in Commercial/Supply Chain Management.
- Proven experience in implementing policies and procedures within a large public sector organization.
- Comprehensive understanding of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and its operational dynamics.
- Experience in training, communication, and the rollout of new frameworks.
Essential Qualifications:
- Active SC Clearance.
- Commercial acumen in Supplier Risk Management.
- In-depth knowledge of insights and upward reporting.
- Experience in implementing Supplier frameworks and trigger mechanisms.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Extensive experience in the public sector.
Desirable Qualifications:
- CIPS Certification.
- Familiarity with relevant systems.
