Bunn Abbott Consulting is a leading employment agency that specializes in placing top talent in the insurance and reinsurance industry. Our client is a renowned reinsurer that is seeking a highly skilled Cash Operations Assistant to join their team.
Job Summary
The Cash Operations Assistant will be responsible for managing all aspects of cash management for the reinsurance transactions in the company's risk and accounting systems. This includes reconciling broker/cedant statements of accounts, booking and applying cash receipts and disbursements, and processing financial account messages.
Main Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Underwriting and Finance teams to reconcile broker/cedant statements of accounts.
- Manage cash receipts and disbursements in the reinsurance accounting system.
- Process financial account messages and resolve issues related to cash allocation.
- Monitor accounts receivable and reports for overdue accounts, and follow up on a timely basis.
- Review cash in suspense balances and follow up on a timely basis.
- Prepare and analyze AR gross up reports.
- Liaise with brokers/coverholders and clients to resolve aged debt issues.
- Maintain documentation of anticipated receipts, cash disbursements, and broker queries/follow-ups.
- Manage intercompany payments and receipts.
- Provide regular updates to the team and manager.
- Assist in creating efficiencies and value creation by reviewing existing processing and proposing updates/changes.
- Participate in special projects or ad hoc tasks as required.
Requirements
- Approximately 4 years of experience in Credit Control, Cash Management, or Finance gained in a Re/Insurer or similar industry.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication/relationship building skills.
