Leading Reinsurer Cash Operations Assistant

Our Client: is a leading global reinsurer with a strong presence in the Property & Casualty market. With over 25 years of experience, they have established a reputation for delivering innovative risk management solutions to their clients.
The Role: Reporting to the AVP, Manager – Cash Operations, the Operations Assistant - Cash Contractors will be responsible for managing all aspects of cash operations for the reinsurance transactions in their risk and accounting systems. This includes reconciliations, cash receipts and disbursements, financial account messages, and monitoring accounts receivable.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Underwriting and Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of Broker/Cedant Statement of Accounts.
- Process and apply cash receipts and disbursements in the reinsurance accounting system.
- Manage financial account messages and resolve issues related to cash allocation.
- Monitor accounts receivable and reports for overdue accounts, and follow up on a timely basis.
- Review cash in suspense balances and follow up on a timely basis.
- Prepare and analyze AR gross up reports.
- Liaise with brokers, coverholders, and clients to resolve aged debt issues.
- Maintain documentation of anticipated receipts, cash disbursements, and broker queries/follow-ups.
- Manage intercompany payments and receipts.
- Provide regular updates to the team and manager.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and value creation.
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Approximately 4 years of experience in Credit Control, Cash Management, or Finance, preferably in the reinsurance industry.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
