Job Title: Mechanical Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting tenders for commercial, residential, and data centre projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and submit tenders for commercial, residential, and data centre projects
  • Conduct site surveys and client meetings to gather information and ensure compliance with tender documents
  • Identify value engineering solutions to create a commercial advantage over competitors
  • Liaise with specialist subcontractors to ensure compliance with tender documents
  • Prepare offer letters detailing tender qualifications and particulars
  • Work with and maintain the existing company estimating department procedures
  • Prepare all documents to meet company standards
  • Submit tenders for review meetings with the relevant Director
  • Chase tenders and keep directors and managers informed of bid prospects
  • Supervise, mentor, and encourage subordinate staff
  • Attend weekly estimating meetings and engineer handover meetings
  • Assist the project team throughout the project until practical completion
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 GCSE grade C or above or equivalent, ideally in Maths and Science
  • A BTEC HNC in Building Services Engineering or equivalent
  • A solid working knowledge of Microsoft packages; Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • A solid working knowledge of the Estimation application in Trimble
  • A proven track record of carrying out a similar role estimating commercial, residential, education, and mission critical projects up to a value of £5M+
  • Knowledge of installations/projects in Europe
Salary and Benefits:

£45,000 - £55,000 per annum, paid travel, 23 days + 8 days BH = 31 days, pension scheme
