About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Valuation Manager to join our Strategic Property Department at Powys County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the management of our property portfolio, providing expert valuation advice and guidance to support the council's strategic objectives.
About the Job:
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of the property valuation service, managing the council's land and property portfolios, and providing strategic valuation advice to senior management and elected members. You will also contribute to the commercial and transactional sections of the estates practice, maximising capital and revenue income by optimising the estate through the implementation of the corporate rationalisation programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of the property valuation service, ensuring that all valuation matters are handled efficiently and effectively.
- Manage the council's land and property portfolios, ensuring that they are maintained to a high standard and are performing for their intended purpose.
- Provide strategic valuation advice to senior management and elected members, ensuring that the council's property assets are optimised to meet its strategic objectives.
- Contribute to the commercial and transactional sections of the estates practice, maximising capital and revenue income by optimising the estate through the implementation of the corporate rationalisation programme.
- Commission and manage the external procurement of the council's annual statutory asset valuations, ensuring that all valuations are completed to the highest standard.
- Work with elected members, executive directors, heads of services, senior managers, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure the continuous development and improvement of valuation and property management practices.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in property valuation and management, with experience of working in a similar role. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders. In addition, you will need to have a strong understanding of the council's strategic objectives and the ability to contribute to the development and implementation of the corporate rationalisation programme.
