NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our team. This role involves collaborating with a dedicated group of engineering professionals to support project management in the execution of a diverse portfolio of electrical-focused projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in the timely execution of a range of multi-disciplinary projects with a primary focus on electrical systems.
- Engage in all phases of project development, from initial definition through front-end engineering, HAZOP studies, detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
- Provide comprehensive project engineering support and maintain communication with all stakeholders impacted by the projects.
- Oversee modifications and changes in accordance with established management processes, ensuring compliance with site standards and relevant legislation.
- Analyze challenges and offer technical insights to facilitate effective and practical solutions.
- Lead and participate in electrical design reviews and technical studies.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Technical Authority on deviations and develop technical specifications as needed.
- Support project cost management, schedule adherence, and efficient delivery of work scope.
- Conduct audits and readiness reviews to ensure alignment with project delivery processes and milestones.
- Actively manage stakeholder relationships, facilitating project meetings and key discussions.
- Assist in the preparation of tenders and contribute to bid evaluations for significant work packages.
- Aid in the development of cost estimates and funding proposals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project delivery framework.
- Participate in safety and design reviews, contributing to risk assessments and reviews.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), ensuring quality assurance during construction activities.
- Support project completions with technical reviews and documentation.
- Serve as a safety advocate within the organization, promoting high standards and assisting in incident investigations when necessary.
- Lead project completion activities, including necessary documentation.
- Represent the company to external stakeholders, including contractors and suppliers.
Qualifications:
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline (preferably working towards Chartered status).
- Strong project engineering background with a focus on electrical systems.
- Proven experience in managing and delivering small to medium-sized multi-disciplinary projects.
- Knowledge of low and high voltage electrical switchgear systems.
- Experience in engineering and maintenance within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or other regulated industries.
- Understanding of various engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, and Asset Integrity.
- Familiarity with legislative requirements such as Electricity at Work Regulations and relevant electrical wiring standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptable and positive approach to work, with the ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and effective time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
