About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Digital Forensics and Investigations Consultant to join our team at FTI Consulting, Inc. As a key member of our Digital Forensics & Investigations team, you will be responsible for identifying and acquiring digital evidence to forensic standards, utilizing industry-standard and bespoke software to access, extract, and handle data from mobile devices, computers, servers, and cloud data sources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct forensic analysis and reporting for a wide range of digital devices under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Liaise with clients and senior staff to manage work and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Research and develop custom solutions as required on a case-by-case basis.
  • Be service-oriented to meet client deadlines, including working out of business hours when necessary.
  • Travel as required, which may be at short notice.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Achieved or predicted a minimum 2:1 degree in forensic computing or a technology, criminal, or legal-focused subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Enthusiasm for technology and an interest in technical developments.
  • Self-development skills, demonstrating an ability to solve complex problems with well-thought-out solutions.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support the team's goals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while handling multiple tasks through to completion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a client-facing role.
  • Flexible working hours and ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Familiarity with forensic principles and technologies.
  • A keen interest in forensic practices and protocols.
  • Familiarity with mobile device, cloud, and personal computer systems.
  • Experience working in a digital forensics or related role or university project.
  • Knowledge of forensic imaging and analysis tools such as Encase, Cellebrite, or X-Ways.
  • Ability to handle data using tools such as Excel, MS Access, SQL, and other tools.
  • Knowledge of programming or scripting (Python, Java, C#, Visual Basic, PowerShell).
