The Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Genomic Medicine Service Director. This role will play a crucial part in leading the coordination of genomic research and innovation projects across the East of England and East Midlands regions.
Main Responsibilities- Provide senior leadership and coordination of genomic research and innovation projects
- Work closely with the Clinical Director, Strategy Director, and other regional stakeholders to ensure effective management of the genomic research programme
- Build strong relationships with the East Genomics Executive Board, Local Genomic Lab representatives, Cellular Pathology Genomic Centres, and Clinical Genetics Services across the region
- Develop and maintain a network of industry, academia, and healthcare stakeholders to operate in the innovation ecosystem
- Drive forward research and innovation across the East NHS GMS Alliance region
- PhD level or equivalent level of education and experience in a leadership position in a specialist area
- Recognised national/international profile in leading and coordinating research and innovation projects
- Experience of working with partners such as the National Institute of Healthcare Research (NIHR), industry, and academia
- Knowledge of the UK research funding landscape and the NHS innovation landscape
- Ability to use project management tools and advanced knowledge of ICT
- Gravitas and integrity, with the ability to build confidence and assurance
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a talented team and contribute to the development of the NHS Genomic Medicine Service across the East of England and East Midlands regions.
