About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team at Willmott Dixon. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for managing the design process, promoting integration of disciplines, and selecting, managing, and appointing consultants to ensure they perform in line with their deed and agreed scope of services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design process to produce accurate information in line with the agreed specification and cost plan/estimate.
- Manage the appointment of consultants and ensure they perform in line with their deed and agreed scope of services.
- Develop a design programme with consultants to meet the agreed whole life programme dates.
- Provide cost-effective technical solutions.
- Chair design team meetings and issue actions.
- Produce designs that meet all necessary statutory and regulatory approvals and record on appropriate tracking logs.
Requirements
- Experience in managing design on projects between £10M-£40M across multiple sectors.
- Understanding of CAD, Microsoft Office, and various other construction technology.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications.
- Ability to manage specialist designers/subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Valid driving license and CSCS card.
