About the Role

Baxter is a leading global healthcare company that is committed to saving and sustaining lives. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Privacy Counsel to lead the implementation and day-to-day management of our Data Privacy program in the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Data Privacy program that aligns with Baxter's Global Privacy Policy and GDPR requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior functional leaders to mobilize resources and implement the Data Privacy program across the organization.
  • Partner with the EU DPO, HST & CPS Europe/ECEMEA to ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
  • Handle Switzerland privacy compliance as the European Headquarters.
  • Enable the development and execution of innovative data-driven business initiatives while ensuring compliance with data privacy and data protection laws.
Requirements
  • Law Degree from an EU jurisdiction and bar membership.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in an international company or in an international law firm in the area of data protection.
  • Healthcare experience required. Medical Device and international experience strongly preferred.
  • Experienced knowledge of global data privacy laws, including the GDPR.
  • Experience in handling data incidents and breaches.
  • Experience with counseling business clients on an international level.
  • Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguous legal issues.
  • Consistent track record in working with others in addressing privacy issues in a pragmatic way and within complex organization environment.
  • High degree of accountability, professional motivation, and drive with the resulting ability to thrive in a results-oriented culture while driving excellence to optimize the execution of transactions.
  • Tried history of proactively identifying and researching legal risks and issues and effectively counselling clients regarding same providing actionable risk mitigation strategies.
  • Strong ability to work with and coordinate activities across a large number of individuals across various functional areas and effectively communicate the impact of law and regulation on business operations in a solutions-oriented manner.
  • Fluency in English. Ability to work in other EU languages will be considered as a plus.
