We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Speech Therapist Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. As a Speech Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and associated challenging behaviors.

You will work closely with a small class of 8 students, liaising with the class teacher, therapists and support staff to help all students flourish. Your responsibilities will include developing the independence, social skills and communication of students, as well as their physical and creative development. You will also ensure all pupils are supported emotionally, and help them navigate their own feelings and emotions.

We are looking for a graduate with a degree in Psychology, Criminology, English or Linguistics, who is passionate about supporting others and has a positive attitude. If you are an aspiring Speech and Language Therapist, this role will provide you with the experience and understanding required to become a Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Educational Psychologist in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and associated challenging behaviors.
  • Work closely with a small class of 8 students, liaising with the class teacher, therapists and support staff to help all students flourish.
  • Develop the independence, social skills and communication of students, as well as their physical and creative development.
  • Ensure all pupils are supported emotionally, and help them navigate their own feelings and emotions.

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Psychology, Criminology, English or Linguistics.
  • Passion for supporting others and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work closely with a small class of 8 students.

  • A competitive salary of £80 to £90 per day.
