About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineering Manager to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading our site engineering teams to ensure all business and departmental objectives and KPIs are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the site engineering teams to ensure all business and departmental objectives and KPIs are achieved.
- Manage budgets, finances, and costs related to engineering maintenance, energy, utilities, and water, facilities management, projects, labour, contracts, and consumables.
- Drive through environmental and/or energy efficiency projects.
- Minimise downtime and lead the engineering team to investigate root cause analysis (RCA) and address recurring faults and engineering issues.
- Ensure adherence to key metrics, site compliance, standards, and regulations, including health & safety, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), food quality, and budgets.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, best practice, and a centre of excellence, always looking for new and more efficient ways of working.
- Drive through changes.
- Offer a collaborative approach, able to work closely with colleagues across other departments to achieve business goals.
- Adhere to cleaning-in-place systems (CIP).
- Attend training and developing courses, as appropriate.
Management
- Manage a team of engineers, including deputy engineering manager, senior project engineers, site bakery engineers, and apprentices.
- Organise engineering colleagues' workloads and call-out rotas.
- Manage rota, call outs, holiday, health and welfare, and the training and development of all engineering personnel.
- Supervise staff performance and behaviours, time, and attendance.
- Assist with the recruitment of personnel.
- Provide leadership and direction to personnel, ensuring they are trained, managed, supported, engaged, focused, and delivering their potential.
- Ensure operational excellence within your area of responsibility for labour management and performance.
- Support active staff involvement, aligned towards employee engagement.
- Monitor employee absences, capability, and performance issues, grievances, approving holidays, and shift patterns.
- Communicate fully with your team, including daily tasks and requirements.
- Ensure your staff have acceptable personal hygiene cleanliness standards and are wearing the correct personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements
- Experience of working as a Site Engineering Manager or similar - essential.
- Experience of working within a fast-food manufacturing environment - essential.
- Experience of managing a diverse workforce. Strong leadership skills, able to coach, mentor, and develop teams - essential.
- Experience of working as an electrical or mechanical engineer, within an industrial setting - essential.
- A minimum level 3 qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (NVQ, City and Guilds, HND or equivalent) - essential.
- Apprentice trained - essential.
- A management qualification - essential.
