Position Overview

Objective: To serve as a principal contributor in the aerodynamic advancement of cutting-edge automotive designs. This role emphasizes the generation of innovative aerodynamic strategies while constructively questioning existing paradigms related to regulations and design limitations to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical development of a specific segment of the aerodynamic package, enhancing performance through the definition of concepts and aerodynamic strategies.
  • Guide a team of aerodynamic specialists and designers, fostering a culture of innovation and critical thinking within the group.
  • Establish and meet performance objectives, infusing creativity and originality into the aerodynamic development team.
  • Lead the enhancement of tools and methodologies, assist in talent acquisition, support team growth, and contribute to the overall technical direction of the department.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and various departments in the formulation of vehicle design, and aid in the organization and planning of testing sessions.
  • Evaluate computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and experimental data, ensuring optimal utilization of personnel and resources to meet aerodynamic performance goals.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the aerodynamic package within the designated area, demonstrating a proactive approach to continuous improvement and technical advancements.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and documentation of CFD and wind tunnel results to establish reliable aerodynamic solutions and execute precise testing procedures.
  • Foster positive relationships and ensure clear communication of information throughout the department and among team members.
  • Support the Aerodynamic Project Leader and Manager in both technical and managerial tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Expertise:

  • Significant experience in the development of aerodynamics within the motorsport sector.
  • Demonstrated success in creating aerodynamic concepts and translating them into practical applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing overall vehicle performance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a knack for engaging with diverse groups and constructively challenging established ideas.
  • Natural leader and mentor, capable of promoting continuous improvement through insightful questioning.
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships in a high-pressure environment.
  • Robust analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
