About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. As a key member of our Health and Safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our staff, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to management and staff.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective risk management strategies.
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Monitor and review health and safety performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to health and safety.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree-level qualification in a health and safety-related field.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Postgraduate qualification in health and safety.
  • Relevant membership of a professional health and safety organization.
  • Experience of working in a clinical risk assurance environment.
  • Experience of investigation techniques and internal and external partnership working.
