Senior Practitioner - Safeguarding Specialist

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join their Safeguarding Team in Kingston, London. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in managing complex cases, providing support and guidance to individuals, children, carers, and families, and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of complex cases, including individuals, children, carers, and families, and provide support and guidance to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Use professional judgement to assess risk and accountability in decision-making, and sustain engagement with fluctuating circumstances and capacities.
  • Employ a range of interventions to promote independence, provide support and protection, take preventative action, and ensure safety while balancing rights and risks.
  • Take the lead in managing positive interventions that prevent deterioration in health and wellbeing while safeguarding people at risk of abuse or neglect.
  • Undertake assessment and planning for safeguarding in more complex cases, and support colleagues by utilising safeguarding skills in line with current policies and procedures.
  • Play a leading role in practice development, help promote and sustain a learning culture, and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Deliver formal professional reflective supervision and provide guidance and advice regarding casework to less experienced qualified staff.
  • Take the role of practice educator for students and the role of ASYE assessor and supervisor for newly qualified social workers in the team.
  • Provide support with personal and professional development as part of the supervision and appraisal process.
  • Take responsibility for clear recording of analysis and judgements, maintaining up to date case work records on the database as required.
  • Work within the Directorate's data protection policies.
  • Ability to travel independently to all required areas by the job's responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner with a strong background in safeguarding and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, children, carers, and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and accountability in decision-making.
  • Ability to travel independently to all required areas by the job's responsibilities.
