**Job Title:** Finance Officer

**Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our finance department, including assisting with financial services and general support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Services: Assist with financial services, including reporting, creating journals, budget movements, coding corrections, and reconciliation.
  • General Support: Provide general support to the finance team, including sharing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Investigations: Investigate general financial queries, including supporting year-end closure and audit requests.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain manual and computerized records, including imprest accounts.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Experience: Relevant experience of finance processes and other financial reconciliations.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with officers of all levels in the Council, using telephone, written, and face-to-face contact.
  • ICT Skills: Good ICT skills, including the use of a spreadsheet and word processing.
  • Planning and Monitoring: Ability to achieve objectives through planning, monitoring, and re-appraisal.
  • Professional Standards: Committed to maintaining professional standards, quality service delivery, and a good professional image.
  • Teamwork: Willing to respond to requests, open to new ideas, and being innovative.
