Children's Home Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Home Manager to lead our residential team and create a nurturing environment for our vulnerable young people to thrive. As a Home Manager at SWAAY, you will be responsible for providing individualized care, meeting the emotional, physical, and developmental needs of the young people in the home, and guiding and developing the staff working in the home.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day running of the home, including staffing, weekly budgets, and resources.
- Promote the ethos of openness and equality of communication.
- Use the principles of Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy (PACE) to provide the young people with attachment security.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of placement plans and risk assessments, maintaining accurate records within the house in line with legislation and company policies.
- Liaise with families and external agencies.
- Provide staff supervision and training, as well as performance management and support.
- Lead, guide, and motivate team members.
- Take part in recruitment and selection processes.
- Support the Therapy and Education programmes.
- On Call duties.
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or a Degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification).
- Achieved or be working towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Management in Residential Childcare.
- At least 2 years experience working with children/young people, preferably with emotional or behavioural difficulties/disrupted attachments.
- Experience in a managerial role within a residential setting.
- Knowledge of The Children's Home (England) Regulations 2015 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018.
- Ability to uphold clear and consistent boundaries.
