Job Summary

Luton Town Football Club is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academy Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our team. As a key member of our Performance Department, you will be responsible for delivering and enhancing the Club's Strength and Conditioning provision in line with our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategy
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive Strength and Conditioning strategy that aligns with the Club's performance goals.
    • Lead a team of Strength and Conditioning coaches to deliver high-quality support to our Academy players.
  • Player Support
    • Design and deliver individualized Strength and Conditioning programs for Academy players to enhance their athletic performance and reduce the risk of injury.
    • Work closely with our Medical Department to ensure players receive comprehensive support and care.
  • Program Development and Delivery
    • Develop and deliver Strength and Conditioning programs for Academy players, including both indoor and pitch-based strategies.
    • Collaborate with our Performance Department to ensure seamless integration of Strength and Conditioning support with other performance services.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with Academy players, coaches, and other Performance Department staff to ensure seamless delivery of Strength and Conditioning support.
    • Collaborate with our Medical Department to ensure players receive comprehensive support and care.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in Strength and Conditioning to ensure our programs are evidence-based and effective.
    • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications
    • BSc/BA in Strength and Conditioning or related discipline.
    • MSc/MRes/MPhil in Strength and Conditioning or related discipline.
    • UKSCA/NSCA/ASCA accreditation.
    • Valid enhanced DBS check.
    • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience and Skills
    • Extensive experience in Strength and Conditioning, including experience as an applied practitioner.
    • Experience in conducting scientifically underpinned assessment, monitoring, and evaluation procedures.
    • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in data management systems.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
