About the Role
The Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Audio Typist Specialist to join our team. As an Audio Typist Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our Cardiology Service by providing high-quality audio typing services for clinics and Cath Suite Procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete audio typing for clinics and Cath Suite Procedures using digital dictation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in clinical letters and reports.
- Provide administrative support to Consultants, Specialist Nurses, and other members of the Cardiac Team, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Utilize local Cardiology systems and Microsoft Office software, including TOMCAT, Bighand, Medi-Viewer, Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams, to manage workload and maintain confidentiality.
- Work independently and as part of a diverse team, prioritizing tasks and referring concerns to the Admin Lead in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Trust policies, ensuring secure and confidential data management.
Cath Suite Administrative Cover
- Receive patient queries via the telephone and liaise with staff to resolve queries in a timely manner.
- Scan and upload relevant documents to Medi-Viewer following patient attendance to the unit.
- Produce agendas for patients to be discussed at the MDT with guidance from the lead consultant.
- Ensure clinical information is available for MDT preparation and post-MDT correspondence is sent to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Liaise with Radiology staff to facilitate image migration to and from the Trust.
- Aware of NHS waiting time targets.
Person Specification
- GCSE level or equivalent, including English and Mathematics.
- RSA or equivalent audio typing experience.
- NVQ 3/4 in Administration or working towards.
- Computer literate to ECDL standard or equivalent.
- Experience of meeting deadlines, working within a team, and accurate data collection.
- Understanding of confidentiality awareness, accuracy in data collection, and Microsoft software.
