Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Telehandler to join our team at Vistry Devon South West in Bideford, Devon. As a Telehandler, you will be responsible for safely operating a forklift truck to unload, store, and distribute materials on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure site safety and security requirements are met, reporting any breaches or hazards to the Site Manager.
  • Inspect and maintain the forklift truck daily, ensuring all necessary records are complete and up-to-date.
  • Erect and maintain site safety signage, monitoring traffic and pedestrian segregation to prevent accidents.
  • Secure any hazards each evening prior to leaving site, providing basic first aid if required.
  • Minimise loss or damage to materials, reporting any incidents to the Site Manager.
  • Check and receive material deliveries in accordance with site requirements, ensuring materials are protected and stored correctly.
  • Maintain site presentation, including tidiness and organisation of storage areas, and ensure compliance with the housekeeping policy.
  • Distribute tipping skips to working areas and collect when full, ensuring building areas, dwellings, and boundary areas are secure.
  • Open and close the site each day, providing cover for the Site Manager as required.

Requirements

  • Trained Plant Operator CPCS Card – Telescopic Handler – All sizes Exec 360 Slew – Category A17 Endorsement C.
  • Resourceful and capable of using own initiative, with excellent time keeping and attendance record.
  • Able to work effectively and safely under pressure, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Able to multitask and work as required to meet the needs of the business, with a willingness to attend site out of hours to deal with emergency situations.
  • Able to travel to different sites on a regular basis.
