In the capacity of Lead Building Surveyor, you will manage a diverse array of building surveying initiatives, encompassing inspections, evaluations, and assessments.

Your role will be pivotal in guaranteeing the safety, compliance, and structural integrity of our properties, while providing exceptional service to our clientele.

You will be tasked with conducting feasibility analyses and developing design solutions for maintenance and minor works projects, ensuring smooth execution across the client's portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting feasibility analyses and formulating recommendations.
  • Preparing, estimating, and presenting comprehensive reports.
  • Performing surveys, along with design and specification services.
  • Adhering to best practices and all relevant legislation concerning health and safety, including asbestos management.
  • Optimizing budgets and resources to maximize value from the client's portfolio.
  • Leading your own set of projects while supervising the team's efforts.
  • Ensuring compliance with NEC and JCT contract requirements.
  • Building strong relationships within the design team and across various technical disciplines.
  • Effectively communicating technical information to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Implementing appropriate systems and procedures to manage delivery standards, control budgets, forecast timelines, and plan effectively.
  • Documenting key insights and lessons learned from each project into the internal database.

Qualifications:

  • Degree, HNC, or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Possession of a professional qualification or competency may be required.
  • Educated to a minimum of HNC/HND or degree level, ideally working towards membership of CIOB or RICS.
  • Thorough understanding of principles and practices relevant to the technical domain.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply project management techniques to complex projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of business planning and financial management principles.
  • Proven capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of computerized business systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent management skills, with experience in motivating and developing team members.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, with a knack for devising and implementing innovative solutions.
