SEN English Teacher Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN English Teacher to join our team at Wayman Learning Trust. As a SEN English Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing targeted reading support to children with Dyslexia and other literacy challenges.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating tailored lessons focused on phonics, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to make progress in reading and comprehension. You will work closely with our team to develop individualized education programs designed to help students build confidence and improve their literacy skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver phonics-based lessons to support students with Dyslexia and other reading challenges
  • Work collaboratively with the team to develop and implement individualized education programs
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students to help them overcome reading difficulties
  • Monitor and assess student progress, making adjustments to lessons as needed
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting students

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant experience teaching English and phonics
  • Proven experience working with SEN students, particularly those with Dyslexia and other reading challenges
  • Strong ability to create personalized lesson plans that focus on phonics and literacy improvement
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire students
  • A clear DBS check and legal right to work in the UK
