About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our mechanical and electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment, including pumps, motors, and control systems.
  • Investigate and diagnose complex faults, and carry out repairs to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Carry out scheduled planned maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment to improve plant resilience and efficiency.
  • Provide technical advice and support to the wider team, and participate in training and development programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve business objectives and improve overall performance.
Requirements
  • ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G level 3 in Electrical engineering.
  • Qualification in mechanical NVQ 2/3 would also be beneficial.
  • A valid driving license is essential.
  • Previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, with an 18th Edition qualification is essential.
  • Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and flexibly within a busy team.

  • Competitive salary from £30,000 to £37,500 per annum depending on experience.
