BAM Nuttall is seeking a highly experienced Sustainability Director to join the TRU West Alliance, a multi-billion-pound railway infrastructure programme. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive sustainability strategy, driving positive environmental outcomes across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Sustainability Strategy: Create an industry-leading scheme-aligned approach that meets strategic sustainability targets, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Cultural Change and Stakeholder Engagement: Drive cultural change and influence senior stakeholders across the business and wider industry, promoting sustainability thinking and best practices.
- Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing team of sustainability professionals, providing guidance and support to deliver the TRU 2035 social value and environmental aims.
- Business Education and Engagement: Develop and deploy an industry-leading approach to business education and engagement, instilling sustainability thinking into every aspect of the TRU West Alliance.
- Strategic Partnerships and Policy Development: Establish the Alliance as an industry leader by contributing to policy development, building key strategic accounts, and partnerships.
Requirements
- Significant Sustainability Experience: Proven track record of driving the implementation of a sustainability strategy, with a strong focus on engagement and stakeholder management.
- Leadership and Team Development: Experience of building and developing high-performing teams, with a focus on leadership development and succession planning.
- Business Acumen and Communication: Excellent business knowledge and communication skills, with a history of building business relationships and influencing stakeholders.
- Sustainability and Governance: Thorough understanding of sustainability and governance issues, including legal, statutory, and technical requirements.
