Class 1 Night Trunk Driver Position

Job Summary:

The Class 1 Night Trunk Driver position at Gregory Distribution involves trunking from Cullompton to Birmingham, Hinkley, and London, and reloading back to Cullompton. This role requires a UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence, a current DCPC Card, and a Digital Tachograph Driver Card. Experience with curtain-side trailers is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trunking from Cullompton to Birmingham, Hinkley, and London, and reloading back to Cullompton
  • Loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring load security
  • Completing daily vehicle checks on company phones
  • Working closely with network hubs
  • Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing customer expectations
  • Attending regular training sessions

Essential Skills:

  • UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence
  • Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card
  • Experience with curtain-side trailers (full training provided)
  • Passion for providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Confident, polite, and a team player
  • Good geographical knowledge
