About the Role
This exciting opportunity is for a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at UCL Eastman Dental Institute. You will contribute to cutting-edge research projects funded by prestigious organizations like the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Our research focuses on understanding the intricate mechanisms behind auditory selective attention and representation. We utilize advanced neuroimaging techniques, including functional and structural MRI, to delve into how our brains process and filter auditory information in complex environments.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, analyze, and interpret behavioral and MRI studies related to auditory neuroscience.
- Collaborate with project Principal Investigators (PIs) to mentor and train undergraduate, master's, and PhD students in research methodologies.
- Present your research findings to colleagues for review and contribute to the drafting of publications for peer-reviewed journals.
- Prepare progress reports on research activities for funding bodies as required.
- Participate in the development and submission of research proposals and bids.
About You:
We are seeking a talented individual with a strong background in auditory cognitive neuroscience. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in auditory cognitive neuroscience research, including data analysis and computational modeling.
- In-depth knowledge of auditory mapping techniques and the ability to program, acquire, and analyze real-time auditory fMRI data.
- A proven track record of integrating scientific findings across multiple levels of explanation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and programming languages such as Matlab, Python, or R.
- Strong collaborative and independent work ethic with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
