Job ResponsibilitiesAs an Engineering Technician at our Belhaven Brewery, you will be an integral part of a close-knit engineering team, engaging in exciting capital investment initiatives while managing daily electrical and mechanical engineering tasks. The Engineering team operates on a rotating shift schedule from Monday to Friday, with early shifts from 6 am to 1:30 pm and late shifts from 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Overtime opportunities may also be available.
Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Technician
Perform maintenance, repairs, and enhancements of electrical and mechanical equipment, focusing on both reactive and preventative measures to ensure reliability and quality. Demonstrate knowledge of power and control systems, three-phase systems, and various sensors, including pressure and level control devices, as well as flow meters. Utilize problem-solving skills to identify and rectify faults, contributing to operational excellence. Provide engineering support for capital investment and improvement projects. Occasionally oversee small installation tasks and manage external contractors during major projects. Adhere to safety protocols at all times, complying with current health and safety regulations and policies.What We Seek...
Relevant experience in a similar multi-skilled role within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment; brewery experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail to monitor equipment conditions and identify irregularities. Familiarity with power and control systems, three-phase systems, and various sensor types. Understanding of mechanical components, including pumps, valves, and heat exchangers. Effective problem-solving abilities to address issues promptly. A proactive and diligent approach to maintaining high hygiene standards during maintenance activities. QualificationsRequired Qualifications
While electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications such as HND/HNC can be beneficial, they are not mandatory if you possess relevant experience.
