Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team at Jacobs. As a key member of our Project Management Resource team, you will be responsible for supporting our client EDF Energy Nuclear Generation with their nuclear fleet in the UK.
This is a unique opportunity to work on a large-scale project, collaborating with experienced project management professionals and developing your skills in project management, business development, and leadership. You will be based at our client's Torness Power Station, with occasional business travel to other UK sites and stations.
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing the overall quality strategy for outages and other maintenance periods. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting specific outage areas with identification of tasks and jobs that require enhanced quality arrangements
- Development of quality plans and other quality arrangements with relevant maintenance, engineering, supply chain, and contract partners
- Representing the strategic planning department at relevant quality forums and being the main outage point of contact for station quality staff and contract partners' quality teams
- Collaborating with station and contract partner teams to drive quality on all outage tasks
- Setting up and running a team carrying out quality control surveillances during work execution
- Reporting quality issues to department group heads, strategic planning manager, or through other forums as required
- Working with the outage coordinators on outage and maintenance period risk identification and mitigation
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- HNC in a Technical Discipline or equivalent
- Experience of quality maintenance activities in a QA/QC role or a technical role
- Recognised BE EN ISO9001 Internal Auditor Training completed
- Certification as IRCA Auditor/Lead Auditor
- Able to influence others to focus on quality as a key issue alongside safety
- Demonstrated proficiency in auditing and surveillance of client and contractor activities
- Awareness of the Site Licence requirements on quality assurance and arrangements required to ensure compliance
- Demonstrated proficiency in Quality Management standards and guidelines, including the current versions of BS EN ISO09001
- Experience with project risk management would be an advantage
