Role Overview
We are seeking a Positive Behaviour Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for providing guidance and support to our staff and the individuals we serve, particularly those who may experience challenging situations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Positive Behaviour Support Specialist, your contributions will include:
- Offering leadership and direction to our teams.
- Conducting training sessions and workshops to enhance team skills.
- Advocating for recovery-oriented Positive Behaviour Support and Person-Centred Active Support.
- Performing tailored assessments to understand individual needs.
- Implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies and plans for reducing restraint.
- Mentoring team members and facilitating reflective debriefing sessions.
- Representing our team in professional discussions regarding individual care.
- Gathering data and preparing comprehensive reports for multi-agency collaboration.
Person-Centred Care
In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that the care provided meets the diverse needs of each individual, promoting their dignity and independence.
Collaboration and Development
This position involves networking across various services to enhance Positive Behaviour Support, providing opportunities for professional growth and experience.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience working with individuals facing distressing situations.
- A willingness to engage in training for physical intervention techniques.
- A commitment to achieving a Level 4 Positive Behaviour Support qualification, with support available for the right candidate.
Essential qualities include strong teamwork, leadership capabilities, effective communication, self-motivation, and excellent organizational skills.
