Job Title: Chief Commercial Officer

Are you a seasoned commercial professional looking for a challenging role in a dynamic organization? We are seeking a Chief Commercial Officer to join our team at the Crown Commercial Service.

Job Summary:

The Chief Commercial Officer will be responsible for leading our commercial strategy and ensuring the effective management of commercial agreements. This will involve working closely with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders to identify and drive value through our commercial agreements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of our commercial strategy
  • Manage commercial agreements and ensure effective supplier and customer relationship management
  • Work with suppliers to identify and drive customer-focused initiatives and value across the public sector
  • Proactively counsel on customer relationship management activities to build strong relationships with key customers
  • Effectively lead risk and issue management processes for commercial agreements
  • Act as a source of knowledge and advice for customers in the relevant category
  • Assist the Commercial Lead in updating and developing the category strategy
  • Lead marketing and communication activities for commercial agreements
  • Help develop other team members and ensure resilience in the team
Requirements:
  • Experience of category/commercial agreement management with a track record of directing performance
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess data and make informed commercial decisions
  • Proven experience leading on supplier and customer relationship management
  • Demonstrable experience of working proactively and collaboratively to motivate, influence, and persuade internal and external stakeholders

We are a flexible business with a smarter working model where our colleagues benefit from a mix of home and office working. Successful candidates are expected to work from one of the office locations listed. Our current office attendance approach requires a minimum of 26 days per quarter in CCS office locations or off-site meetings with suppliers, customers, partners, networking/industry events. This is pro rata for those who work part-time. Our smarter working principles mean that our people have the advantage of both office and off-site based collaboration and learning, as well as working from home.
