About the Role:
The Commercial Officer will play a critical role in our rapidly growing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) team and our expansion within the EMEA region. The Commercial Officer will own and lead the Request for Proposal (RFP) and competitive bid processes, the negotiation of contracts with contractors & suppliers, conduct cost analysis, and making strategic product decisions for projects ranging in scope and complexity for assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and lead the RFP response and competitive bid processes for projects in EMEA, analyzing commercial and legal aspects of Customer RFPs to develop a competitive submission to continue to grow the execution pipeline.
- Lead the Customer and sub-contractor contract negotiation phase for equipment, services, and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts by collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop key requirements for RFPs to sub-contractors and evaluate the bid results.
- Responsible for bid analysis and modeling to support the strategic procurement process.
- Work with supply chain to capture competitive intelligence and generate insights on supply chain and BESS landscape.
- Actively identify opportunities to improve business processes and support the implementation of such.
- Ensure the organization's internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained.
- Provide contract support to the Project's team during contract execution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in either Business, Engineering, Management, Finance, or Economics or related field degree.
- Commercial contract negotiation and RFPs management experience for equipment supply in the energy sector.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Salesforce.
- Fluent in English in speaking and writing.
- Ability to take critical decisions in the face of limited or conflicting data and under time pressure.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work intensively during negotiation periods.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence with executive level presentations.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills and proven leadership skills in virtual project teams.
