Position Overview:
This role is situated within the Equity Service Investment Operations Team, which comprises four members, as part of a larger Service team of thirteen. The primary responsibilities include initiating daily operations and conducting checks to assist portfolio managers, managing liquidity and cash flows, monitoring trading activities, and providing overall insights. This position offers the chance to deliver frontline operational support to the Equity Investment Group while gaining experience in investment data management.
Key Responsibilities:Core Duties:
- Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the complete Equity investment process, both conceptually and operationally.
- Assist portfolio managers and traders as the principal IMG Service client by:
- Addressing investment process inquiries and concerns promptly with sufficient insight and clarity.
- Collaborating with broader EIS teams to gather necessary information or actions required by the Desk.
- Track and analyze portfolio movements to provide valuable insights to the Desk, particularly regarding liquidity (available cash) and trading activities using available tools.
- Stay informed about market and global events and assess their potential impact on the investment process and the EIS working day. Engage in discussions with colleagues.
- Establish strong interpersonal relationships by engaging directly with the Investment Teams.
- Collaborate with Investment Risk and Operational Risk Teams to enhance controls and the control environment.
- Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IMG Service processes, such as automation, new coding, and technological recommendations.
- Become familiar with the Vanguard Management System as a method for continuous improvement, focusing on time management, effective communication, root cause analysis of incidents, and ongoing learning.
- Participate in special projects and undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in Fund Operations or a role interfacing with Investment Teams.
- An undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience, with a preference for degrees in Accounting, Finance, or CFA certification.
- Experience in equity investments is essential.
Special Considerations:
- Vanguard is not providing visa sponsorship for this position.
- This role requires five days in the office.
