Job Title: Principal Overhead Line Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Overhead Line Engineer to join our team in Manchester. As a key member of our OLE team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering safe, economical, and quality projects for various clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake design duties as a Contractors Responsible Engineer for OLE design Schemes.
  • Produce technical designs for OLE, including Layout Plans, Cross Sections, Allocations, Isolation Diagrams updates, bonding designs, and supporting reports and calculations.
  • Develop OLE designs through the different stages of the project life cycle for complex sites.
  • Ensure designs are delivered in line with relevant, current design standards, are constructable, and apply Safe by Design principles.
  • Communicate effectively with other design/construction disciplines and sub-contractors.
  • Respond to design queries during the construction phase and attend site meetings if required.
Requirements:
  • BSc, BEng, or MEng degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer (or working towards) and member of a professional institution.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in OLEMI and other OLE ranges.
  • Familiar with Isolation diagrams and their update process.
  • Understanding of Earthing & Bonding required for electrification & proficient in Bentley MicroStation CAD software.
  • Understanding of CSM-RA & Health and Safety including CDM.
  • Experience of managing teams.
