Located in Oxford, a vibrant and culturally diverse city, our new facilities offer a stimulating environment for growth and development. As a Manufacturing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful introduction of new processes and products.

The main responsibilities of this role include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quantum Dot Synthesis: Synthesize colloidal quantum dots for commercial orders, including setup of manufacturing stations, QDs synthesis using wet chemistry, QDs cleaning and purification, and packaging of the products.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality control of synthesized QDs, including measurements of absorption and photoluminescence profiles, photoluminescence quantum yield, TGA, DLS, FTIR, etc.
  • Scaling Up: Assist with scaling up production by conducting laboratory experiments, pilot scale-up tests, and commercial trials to ensure the successful introduction of new processes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of work done and create and revise technical documentation.

Required experience and skills include:

Requirements:
  • Proven expertise in chemical synthesis, with a preference for experience with nanoparticles/quantum dots, organic/organometallic or inorganic synthesis.
  • Industrial experience is advantageous.
  • Eager to join a deep tech start-up.
  • PhD in either chemistry or material science.
  • Strong knowledge of materials characterization techniques, including UV-vis-NIR spectroscopy, PL measurement, TGA, FTIR, TEM, and SEM.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in chemical synthetic skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
