We are currently expanding our International portfolio within the Infrastructure division and are looking for an Associate - International Cleanwater to enhance our Water Sector team (Location flexible).

This position is part of the Asset Planning & Solutions practice within the Infrastructure division. We seek a cleanwater and network specialist who is passionate about project ownership, team management, and staff mentorship to ensure the successful execution of projects while enhancing our stormwater drainage capabilities. The role may involve international travel, engaging with clients or working from AtkinsRéalis' international offices, with opportunities for short-term assignments abroad. Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver services to clients in a dynamic and innovative environment, collaborating within our multidisciplinary utility consultancy and advisory team.
  • Oversee project delivery throughout international project lifecycles, including masterplans, strategic studies, concept design, and construction support.
  • Lead efforts in securing work through bid management, proposal creation, scope definition, and quality responses to client tenders, adhering to Atkins' bid management protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively across global teams, including regions such as the UK, Middle East, India, and the US, to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Ensure projects are delivered efficiently, meeting timelines and budgets while complying with AtkinsRéalis' business management systems.
  • Provide guidance to design teams on integrating sustainable cleanwater infrastructure concepts into masterplans and feasibility studies, focusing on demand calculations, circular economy principles, and alternative water reuse.
  • Develop and assess conceptual designs, drawings, and reports to support sustainable integrated designs.
  • Champion the safe and quality design of technical solutions in line with relevant standards and codes, driving projects towards a Net Zero Water framework.
  • Promote the use of digital initiatives and innovative solutions within the water sector.
  • Mentor and manage team members, from graduates to senior staff.
Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of the water environment and sustainability, with a commitment to addressing the challenges faced in this sector.
  • A proactive approach to developing innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions for clients.
  • Extensive experience in project and bid management within the cleanwater sector globally, particularly in the UK and Middle East, with a respect for diverse cultures.
  • Significant experience in water network planning, large-scale masterplans, and sustainable urban development; international experience is advantageous.
  • Membership in a recognized professional body (ICE or CIWEM) is preferred.
  • Strong technical background in cleanwater at the strategic masterplanning level, including familiarity with relevant UK and international codes and standards.
  • Experience with hydraulic and hydrological modeling, GIS software, and industry-standard design tools.
  • Highly motivated and organized, with a commitment to promoting technical excellence within project teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, capable of working collaboratively and independently within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proven track record of innovation in the water sector, including digital advancements and sustainable practices.
  • Willingness to adapt to various work types and locations, with a readiness to travel for both short and long-term assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver technically proficient projects on time and within budget.
