Mechanical Workshop Engineer (CNC)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within a Monday to Friday schedule
  • Engage in a 35-hour work week
  • Fabricate and assemble prototypes and experimental apparatus with high precision, closely collaborating with end-users or project teams
  • Utilize standard machine tools, with a preference for CNC machinery and CAD/CAM systems
  • Provide comprehensive documentation regarding materials and processes utilized, including their characteristics and performance metrics
  • Assist in the operation and upkeep of workshop facilities, performing repairs and adjustments on equipment as necessary
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills across various techniques, including CNC machining, welding, and tool-making
  • Support and help maintain systems that ensure effective and efficient workshop management

Candidate Profile:

  • Completion of an apprenticeship is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a workshop setting
  • Proficient in setting up, operating, and programming milling and turning machines
  • Strong manual machining capabilities
  • Familiarity and confidence with CAD & CAM software
