**About the Role**
Bloomsbury Publishing plc, a leading children's book publisher, is seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic Publicity Assistant to join its award-winning Children's Books team. As a key member of the publicity team, you will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide administrative support to the Publicity Director and Children's Publicity Team, including diary scheduling, processing invoices, taking minutes, and booking travel.
- Support publicity campaigns, including booking author travel, inputting spend on budget, organizing mailings, accompanying authors to events and interviews, and organizing events.
- Develop and implement publicity campaigns, contributing to the wider department's knowledge and skillset.
- Manage departmental processes, including awards management, festivals and conferences, creating internal communications documents, managing departmental invoices, book ordering, and more.
- Serve as the publicity contact for the public and media, ensuring all communication with external stakeholders is efficient, friendly, and timely.
- Be the first point of contact for the publicity team for internal colleagues.
**Requirements**
- Excellent organizational and timekeeping skills to deliver tasks within deadline, with the ability to prioritize.
- Great attention to detail.
- Keen interest in media of all forms, including print, broadcast, and online, as well as social media and new media to stay abreast of changes in the market.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for copy editing, writing press releases, and keeping stakeholders informed.
- Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally, to build and establish relationships with stakeholders.
- Passion for reading to stay up-to-date on Bloomsbury's published books and market trends.
