About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Litigation Specialist to join our team at Clarke Legal Specialists. As a Fee Earner, you will play a crucial role in handling a caseload of Claimant files and representing the team in the conduct of client matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handling a caseload of Claimant files, including transferred fast track files ready to litigate
  • Representing the team in the conduct of client matters, providing legal advice and assistance in a professional manner
  • Completing all necessary investigations into the circumstances of the incident and the value of the client's claim, carrying out legal research as required
  • Collating and reviewing evidence to assess the prospects of the claim succeeding and its merits
  • Negotiating settlement on the best possible terms for the client, ensuring instructions are followed or taken at vital points
  • Ensuring the legal expenses provider is kept updated at all key stages
  • Drafting necessary documents to issue court proceedings, following court directions, drafting statements, and preparing the file for a final court hearing
  • Identifying and investigating conflicts, complaints, and potential acts of negligence, ensuring they are reported immediately to a team leader or member of the compliance team
Requirements
  • A minimum of six months' experience in a similar role, either in-house or within private practice
  • Basic legal background, including knowledge of fundamental legal concepts
  • Confidence to manage colleagues' expectations and ensure delivery by following up on items promised
  • Fee earning knowledge
  • Writing skills to be applied in written papers for internal and external release
