This role includes a Recruitment and Retention payment of £25,000, along with a potential relocation allowance of up to £8000. The payment structure is as follows:
- £5000 upon appointment

- £8500 retention payment at the 48-month mark

Key Responsibilities
This position focuses on working-age Liaison Psychiatry. You will play a crucial role in supporting the nursing team and ensuring continuity of care throughout the week in a general hospital setting.
Your responsibilities will include providing specialized medical and psychiatric evaluations and treatments for individuals aged 17 and above, referred to the Mental Health Liaison Team from various departments within the hospital. Expertise in adult mental health, organic mental health conditions, medically unexplained symptoms, and the interaction between physical and mental health issues is essential.
You will be part of a team recognized for its contributions to nationally acknowledged Liaison Psychiatry research and actively involved in the education and training of students from Brighton and Sussex Medical School, as well as nursing and paramedic students.
Additionally, you will contribute to the development of new care pathways and the integration of psychiatric care in alignment with the NHS Long Term Plan.

Qualifications
Essential
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
Desirable
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
- Additional clinical qualifications.
Eligibility Criteria

- Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months.
- Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
- Approved under S12 or able to achieve within three months of appointment.

- Strong knowledge in the specialty
- Excellent clinical skills with a bio-psycho-social perspective and broad medical knowledge
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
- Competencies to work with both General Adult and Older Adult patients, with evidence of relevant experience.
Desirable
- A wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to the role within the NHS or a comparable service
- Additional expertise in Addictions psychiatry, Neuropsychiatry, or Psychotherapy
