About the Job:
In this role, you will be overseeing security operations, ensuring a safe environment for youth and staff at the Commonwealth of Virginia. Your responsibilities will include developing, reviewing, and implementing security protocols and procedures, managing duty rosters, conducting inspections for security breaches, and supervising staff activities.
Your duties will also involve coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with security regulations and standards, as well as providing guidance and support to staff members to enhance their security knowledge and skills.
Multiple positions are available, and selected applicants will undergo a thorough background investigation and drug screening. Training and certifications mandated by the Commonwealth of Virginia are required.
Minimum Qualifications:
You should have a solid understanding of correctional security practices, experience in coordinating security staff, independent work skills, effective communication abilities, conflict resolution expertise, and knowledge of supervisory techniques.
Additional Considerations:
Progressive experience in corrections or law enforcement, including supervisory roles, is highly desirable.
