Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team at ASSYSTEM. As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring our environmental permits are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead environmental permitting projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Prepare Environmental Permit applications for activities and discharges to water, land, and air to support the different construction phases of our projects.
  • Produce technical reports and interpret data to inform permit applications.
  • Provide expert advice and assess performance/compliance for specific site activities in collaboration with our site-based environment team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of the UK environmental permitting regime and management of permit applications.
  • Experience of working for the UK environmental regulators (e.g., EA, NRW, or SEPA) is desirable.
  • Ability to analyze scientific reports and investigations to inform permit applications for waste, water, and air.
  • A proven track record of monitoring and enhancing environmental compliance within relevant sectors and skilled in leading environmental audits and investigations, backed by a recognized qualification.
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Tools.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Fluent in English; French is desirable.
