Job Title: Learning Mentor - Vocational Support
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Learning Mentor to provide cross-college support to teaching staff and students who have a wide range of additional support needs. As a Learning Mentor, you will work with students in the preparation and submission of their work, including written communication and IT-based work within the boundaries allowed by examining bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with additional needs, including those with learning difficulties, disabilities, and mental health conditions.
- Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans that meet the needs of students.
- Assist students with the preparation and submission of their work, including written communication and IT-based tasks.
- Collaborate with other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting students.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of college policies and procedures related to student support.
Requirements:
- Experience of working in an educational or training setting with students/young people (14+) who have support needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- At least level 2 standard of general education, particularly in English and Maths.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
