Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at a fantastic multi-academy trust in Gloucestershire.

About the Role:

This is a permanent, full-time position, working up to 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year, term time only.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be working with our KS4 students, providing PPA cover for teachers and focusing primarily on the delivery of English, Maths, and Functional Skills.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage the classroom environment to ensure a safe and productive learning space.
  • Run activities and interventions to support student learning and engagement.
  • Lead 1:1 and small group interventions to support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Support students of all abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Report writing and liaison with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on student progress.
About You:

We are looking for an experienced teaching assistant with a passion for education and a commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs.

  • Experience working with children, particularly secondary age.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and strategies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong organizational skills to assist with lesson planning and classroom management.
