Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Health Care Support Worker to join our team at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, working on the Discharge Waiting Area.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining patient flow across the Trust by facilitating smooth and efficient patient discharge.
Working collaboratively with the team, the post holder will ensure safe and timely transfer of discharges to the unit, while delivering a high standard of patient care.
The Discharge Waiting Area operates 24/7, and the post holder will work closely with the DWA In Charge and DWA Coordinator to achieve this goal.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic, with a passion for delivering excellent patient care.
Main Responsibilities
• Facilitate the transfer of patients from the base ward to the Discharge Waiting Area
• Support the Registered Nurse/AP in the day-to-day running of the Discharge Waiting Area
• Ensure that patients receive optimal care while under the care of the Discharge Waiting Area
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
They will also have a strong understanding of patient care principles and be able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
