Pipework Workshop Manager Position

Job Summary:
Aqumen Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Pipework Workshop Manager to join our client's team in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the manufacturing process of projects, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the company's reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the Estimating Department: Collaborate with the estimating team to understand contract requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Adhere to Industry Standards: Ensure that all manufacturing processes adhere to relevant codes and industry standards, including ASME VIII, PD5500, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, CE, and UKCA Marking.
- Study Fabrication Drawings: Analyze fabrication drawings to identify potential issues with materials or manufacturing processes, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Create and Review Bills of Materials: Develop and review bills of materials, taking into account budgets and delivery requirements, to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
- Prepare Work Packs and Production Schedules: Create work packs for fabrication and produce production schedules to ensure smooth project progression.
- Conduct Daily Progress Checks: Regularly inspect project progress and communicate with workshop supervisors to address any issues or concerns.
- Organize Sub-Contract Activities: Coordinate sub-contract activities and interact with third-party inspectors and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
- Address Commercial Issues: Resolve all commercial issues prior to project completion and report relevant information to company directors.
Requirements:
- Time-Served Pipefitter: Possess a sound engineering background in the Petro-Chemical, Oil & Gas, or similar industry.
- Excellent Management and Organization Skills: Demonstrate strong management and organization skills in a similar role.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in computer literacy, particularly with Word and Excel.
- Mathematical and Numerical Competency: Possess a high level of mathematical and numerical competency.
- Strong Communication Skills: Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
