Job Title: Warehouse Foreman

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Foreman to join our team at Johnsons 1871 Ltd, a company with nearly 150 years of experience in the logistics and removals sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for improving and developing warehouse operating systems, determining handling and storage requirements, implementing and enforcing policies and procedures, and developing processes for receiving, inventory management, and organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organising the warehouse to ensure a safe and tidy working environment
  • Operating and maintaining forklifts, including daily checks for defects
  • Maintaining the warehouse management system
  • Collating daily defect reports and informing the Operations Manager
  • Issuing PPE/Uniforms and registering items
  • Daily equipment checks
  • Ensuring vehicles are delivered for service in line with bookings
  • Leading on Health and Safety in the Warehouse and surrounding work area
  • Assisting with site housekeeping
  • Dealing with deliveries to the site
  • Acting as a driver porter as and when required

Weekly and Monthly Tasks:

  • Complete packing material stocktakes
  • Update equipment service planner
  • Oversee the booking of plant and equipment inspections
  • Monitor the return of vehicle and equipment servicesheets
  • Complete weekly workplace inspections
  • Sign off corrective actions on defectsheets
  • Complete checks for hazards and correct issues
  • Complete packing comparison checks
  • Complete AED checks
  • Manage waste onsite
  • Ensure tyre inspections are being completed

Schedule:

  • 10-hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to implement process improvements
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Qualification in logistics, supply chain management (desirable)
  • Driving Licence (essential)
  • Containerised Storage Experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Experience as a warehouse operative/foreman
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment
  • Forklift Truck licence is essential (Counterbalance & Reach truck)
