At Johnsons 1871 Ltd, we are seeking an experienced Warehouse Foreman to join our team in a company with nearly 150 years of experience in the logistics and removals sector. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will play a crucial role in improving and developing warehouse operating systems, ensuring a safe working environment for our colleagues and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organise and maintain a tidy and safe warehouse environment
  • Operate and maintain forklifts, performing daily checks for defects
  • Maintain the warehouse management system, ensuring accurate inventory management and organisation
  • Collate daily defect reports and inform the Operations Manager of any issues
  • Issue PPE/Uniforms and register items, ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Perform daily equipment checks and ensure vehicles are delivered for service in line with bookings
  • Lead on Health and Safety in the Warehouse and surrounding work area, promoting a culture of safety and well-being
  • Assist with site housekeeping, dealing with deliveries to the site, and acting as a driver porter as required
  • Complete weekly and monthly tasks, including packing material stock takes, equipment service planner updates, and monitoring the return of vehicle and equipment service sheets
Requirements:
  • Proven ability to implement process improvements and drive change
  • Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage staff
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Qualification in logistics, supply chain management (desirable)
  • Driving Licence (essential)
  • Containerised Storage Experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Forklift Truck licence (essential, Counterbalance & Reach truck)
