Job Title: Senior Software Developer

Location: Glasgow

Reporting to: Software Engineering Manager


NRG is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join their expanding team in Glasgow. As a key member of the software engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable web and desktop applications using.NET and C# technologies.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and develop high-quality software solutions using.NET and C#.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following industry best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and maintenance.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends to improve development processes.


Required Skills & Qualifications:


  • Significant professional experience in software development with C# and.NET Framework/Core.
  • Experience in guiding and mentoring Junior Developers.
  • Extensive experience with ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, and RESTful services.
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and SOLID design patterns.
  • Experience working with SQL Server or other relational databases.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks like Angular or React (preferred).
  • Experience with Version Control Systems (Git, TFS, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.


Bonus Skills:


  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
