Job Title: Shift Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Engineer to join our team at Unilever. As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production facility, maintaining and repairing equipment, and implementing improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the production facility is operating at optimum speed and efficiency, producing high-quality products.
  • Maintain, repair, and improve plant and equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and implement solutions.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to continuously improve processes and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in electrical, mechanical, or control engineering, with a strong understanding of maintenance and repair principles.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Valid NVQ 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
  • Good level of computer literacy, with experience using CMMS systems and other software applications.
